The decision to open or close schools when the weather is bad is a difficult decision and LPS is very sensitive to how these decisions affect you and your family. While a good number of districts already had Friday off as part of the regular winter vacation that lasted until Presidents' Day on Monday, some that did have in-person classes chose to cancel classes due to a mixture of snow and rain that made driving dangerous on Friday.
